Why Therapy?

Change is the goal.

Do you wish you could feel hope? Forgot what happiness feels like?

In therapy, you learn skills to be able to accomplish these goals. It took years to get to this point; it will take time to learn skills to control your thoughts and feelings. Change can happen, but it is a choice. It will take work.

What do you want to change?

Sometimes, it isn’t as simple as wanting to decrease anxiety, depression, and anger. Sometimes, it goes much deeper. Therapy is essential because it helps you attain goals and make changes in the way you feel.

I can help you discover what you weren’t able to put into words. Thoughts, feelings, and situations can be confusing. When asked a question, “I don’t know” is the usual answer. Therapy changes this. When you can finally verbalize your thoughts and feelings, you are another step closer to decreasing negativity in your mind.

Problem-solving is the next step.

Ever made a bad choice but couldn’t figure out why you made that choice? You might have said, “Why was I so dumb for making that choice?”

You needed skills. Therapy can make an amazing difference when you learn and apply a few new skills. Therapy doesn’t solve everything, but it can help you develop wisdom. Wisdom improves the path you are on. The more skills you learn, the more wisdom will develop. The more wisdom develops, the brighter your path will be.
